ARIK COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT RAMMED INTO AIRFORCE AIRCRAFT AT JOS

NIGERIA AVIATION MINISTER, PRINCESS STELLA ODUAH

A commercial aircraft plying the Lagos- Jos route has rammed it’s wing into an air-force C-130 aircraft in Abuja on Saturday 14^th of July 2012.The military aircraft was billed to convey students of the two Airforce military institutions located in Jos before the incident happened

 Though no casualty was recorded, a joint investigation into immediate cause of the accident has commenced

In a press release by the Nigerian airforce through the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Airforce information , Wing Commander A . Makun it stated that: “ An Arik Airline Boeing 737-700 with registration No 5NMJI on a routine flight to Lagos brushed the wing of a parked Nigerian Air Force C-130 (NAF 917) at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang Jos”.

“The incident happened at about 1345hrs today when the Arik aircraft was taxiing at the airport tarmac in preparation for take-off. The tank 1 wing tip of the NAF C-130 was damaged while the wing of the Arik aircraft was dismembered and hung on the NAF aircraft”.

“There was no casualty recorded during the incident, however, the 2 aircraft had to abort their missions. The NAF C-130 was in Jos to airlift students of the Air Force Military School and Air Force Girls Military School . Meanwhile, a joint investigation by the Nigerian Air Force and Arik Airline management has commenced”.

She is a staff of the Bayelsa State civil service. But she will also not collect any perk for the office. It will be illegal for her to draw salary from the office”

Two doctors Dr Billy Cohn and Dr Bud Frazier from Texas Heart institute have successfully carried out a surgical operation in which there was complete removal of a man’s heart  and replaced same with a rotor-like device.

 The man ,Craig Lewis a 55-years old has earlier been diagnosed of amyloidosis which has a damaging effect on the heart who has been told by doctor that he had less than hours to eat had a turbine-like device that cause a continuous flow of blood after his wife had consented to it.

 After the operation the wife was surprised that she couldn't feel neither feel his heart beat or pulse  

THE DEVICE

The two doctors had earlier designed the device which they had tested on about fifty calves. They said these calves had resumed their normal physiological activities such as grazing, sleeping the following day after the surgical operations.They said these animals has no pulse and the electrocardiogram was flat.

The material, a rotor- like device that works by supplying a continuous blood flow is made up of moderate amount of homemade materials.

CHINESE MAN TAKES WIFE DELIVERY ON ROAD SIDE WALKWAY

China with her large population is a place with her own pack of wonders of the world. One of such was  in Guangzhou, capital of southeast china when a road side pavement was converted into a maternity room and the husband at the helms of affairs.

They were on their way to the hospital when suddenly the woman collapsed  and was was overwhelmed by the urge to push.

The husband initially sought for assistance at a nearby dental clinic but was denied stating that they have no idea of what delivering a baby is.

It was then he decided to act bravely laying coats and sheets provided by residents in the neighborhood and took the delivery of the baby in the presence of passerby while they await an ambulance.

Delivery of the baby took place successfully and mother and child were later taken to the hospital for medical check-up.

One of the witnesses was quoted as saying that when she was unable to hold the baby, he laid down coats and sheets provided by resident and did what he had to do.

PATIENCE JONATHAN BECOMES FIRST NIGERIA FIRST LADY TO BECOME PERMANET SECRETARY

The first lady of Nigeria Dame Patience Jonathan yesterday made history with her appointment as a permanent secretary in the services of the Bayelsa State government.

PERMANENT SECRETARY IN ACTION

She is one of 17 other top senior civil servants appointed by the present governor of the state Mr. Seriake Dickson according to a statement released by the Head of Civil Services Mrs Gloria Izonfo stating that this was done in accordance with the constitutional power conferred on Governor Seriake Dickson in section 203 sub-Section 2C of the Nigeria Constitution.

The state government has said that her appointment into the office of permanent Secretary was due to long service in the Rivers State Civil Service which has been transferred to Bayelsa state.

It should however be noted that it is section  208 and not section 203 of the constitution that guides the appointment of Permanent Secretaries.

208. (1) Power to appoint persons to hold or act in the offices to which this section applies and to remove persons so appointed from any such office shall vest in the Governor of the State.

(2) The offices to which this section applies are, namely -

(a) Secretary to the Government of the State;

(b) Head of the Civil Service of the State;

(c) Permanent Secretary or other chief executive in any Ministry or Department of the Government of the State howsoever designated; and

(d) Any office on the personal staff of the Governor.

IN OFFICIAL CAPACITY

It should  be however be noted that this appointment has been solely reserved for senior civil servants in active service who are believed to be in the best position to supervise and direct all day to day activities of the appropriate ministries.

Sooner it loses its value as the war progresses as there were no goods, services or foods to be exchanged it with within the remaining Biafra republic annid the currency is not recognized in nearby nations that when a foreign journalist, Michael Mok of ‘Life’ magazine, asked a nun working with the Biafrans whether he could make a cash donation to help the starving children, he was told that cash would be useless, as there was nothing left to buy in Biafra.Jokes are often cracked that some individuals use the currency as alternatives to feathers in pillows due to it's worthlessness.  A Diamond DA 2 MPP aircraft marked with 5N-BKS, belonging to presidential committee on maritime. PICOMMS   was involved in a serious incident of belly-landing at Benin Airport around 11a.m on Thursday 5th of July 2012. However, no casualty was recorded.

According to information made available by the spokesperson of Accident investigation bureau, Mr. Tunji Oketunbi, no casualty was involved. 

Information from some sources said that there only two individuals in the plane which were a pilot and another pilot-in-training and the plane had to crash land due to failure of the nose wheel or the landing gear to retract. 

This is happening at a moment when the mourning of victims of the Dana airways were yet to be concluded and at this time a government aircraft is involved. 

ABACHA'S SON MAY BE JAILED AGAIN

 This is due to his absence at his retrial by a swiss high court again last Wednesday. He had earlier been sentenced in absentia to the two year suspended prison term and also his assets confiscated for misappropriation and stealing of public funds when his father was the head of Nigeria government

But he won an appeal at the Swiss Federal Tribunal citing procedural irregularities after which the court ordered the sentence annulled and retrial.

This time around he had stated his inability to appear to be due to head injuries and whiplash he sustained during a recent a road traffic accident.
