Nigerian sworn in as Councillor in Belgium

Nweke, a member of the Belgian Green Party, was re-elected last year having made history in 2006 when he became the first non-Belgian born politician to win an elective position in West-Flanders.
With his re-election, Nweke’s mandate includes issues bordering on the economy, social policy, international development and minority priority.
“The last several years were a learning curve where some important results were equally achieved.
“ I will continue to have my eyes on the ball as far as social policy is concerned, but with an expanded portfolio that includes the economy and international development.
“Small and medium enterprises are the engine of the local economy and a business-friendly environment will not only keep existing businesses in good shape but will attract new investments and create jobs.
“A number of good initiatives are ongoing and obviously these would be continued and enhanced. “It will also make sense to re-evaluate some economic activities that are liabilities to the local economy,” He told NAN’s Western Europe Correspondent.
Nweke, who spoke on international development, said the challenges of global meltdown were insurmountable. “I think that the relationship between the western economies and the emerging ones has for too long being based on the wrong premise. He said that partnership, rather than charity, should be the bedspring on which the larger part of the relationship rests.
“The economies of the west are showing signs of saturation, while there are huge developmental potential in the emerging economies. So let’s build a relationship of mutual benefits.” Nweke, 46, years, from Ibusa in Delta state, migrated to Belgium in 1993; he is currently the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora NIDO

Kim Kandrashin to make $16 million from pregnancy

Kim Kardashian is set to make $16 million from her pregnancy as she is already said to be in talks with TV bosses about filming everything to do with her having the baby, although is unsure whether to give birth in front of the cameras.

The reality TV star is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Kanye West and she is already said to be in talks with TV bosses about filming everything to do with her pregnancy as well as becoming the face of lots of mother-to-be and baby products.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kim is in talks with TV execs about filming the run-up to the birth - scans, hospital visits, everything. She could make $16million from the pregnancy alone.

"She's already been bombarded with tons of potential deals to endorse parental products."

However, it is unsure whether Kardashian will allow the TV cameras to film her giving birth like her sister Kourtney Kardashian did when she had her children, Mason, three, and six-month-old Penelope.

Insiders say Kardashian and West - who have been dating for eight months - decided to start trying for a baby after spending time with Beyonce and Jay-Z's 11-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy. One said: "It was actually Beyonce's daughter, Blue Ivy, who made them both broody.

"And despite reports Beyonce and Kim do not get on, she was one of the first to congratulate Kim and Kanye and is going to be invited to the mother of all baby showers in New York."

Luckily, for many, a good night's rest is only a few short steps away. Cure your insomnia by redesigning your room for maximum tranquility.

What your hair style speaks of you

Did you know that the way you divide your strands can affect the way people perceive you?

It was news to us too, and so were these eye-opening tidbits from a study, which found that the direction you part your hair and the way it falls causes others to instantly assess your personality in a certain way

• Part your hair on the right (showing the side of your brain that is intuitive and controls creativity) to appear gentle, caring and ultra-feminine.

• To look more assertive and reliable, part it on the left (showing the side of your brain that is rational and controls analytic function).

• Want to appear balanced and trustworthy? Try a center part or none at all.

Hope you will let your hear speak for you today
