Prison service fail to produce Aluu4 suspects

It was relatively a mild drama at the court though not unusual in our part of the world yesterday as the suspects  Aluu4  murder case could not be presented by the prison officials citing shortage of personnel as reasons.The case was then adjourned till February 28, 2013. The suspects were remanded in prison.

Nkiru's release: Kidnappers collected 8 million naira - Police

More facts have emerged that concerning the release of Nkiru Sylvanus. Her abductors were actually paid the sum of eight million naira. 

This disclosure was made by the state commissioner of police, Mr Adisa Bolanta saying "They defied our warnings and continued negotiations with the kidnappers. They went behind us and paid N8 million to them. We have made some arrests in connection with the case and very soon they will all be apprehended."

I guess the poor family members can not leave the life of their loved ones in the hands of the Nigerian Police

Sacked Mc Donald waitress gets £3,000 compensation

A waitress at Mc Donalds who was sacked for sprinkling too much chocolate on ice cream for a fellow work mate had received £3,000 compensation.

She said “The matter was trivial, in that I provided a fellow employee, who was purchasing a dessert, a generous sprinkling of chocolate pieces on a 99p Mc Flurry 

“There is no standard for such measures - they are always imprecise and will vary among customers.

“My colleague had asked me: ‘Make it a nice one’.
“So the measure I gave erred on the side of more than, rather than less.”

The 29 year old Man City player, who aslo won it last year, was crowned on Thursday at a glamorous Glo-CAF Awards Gala that held at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra, Ghana. The abductors of Nigerian movie makers Nkiru Sylvanus & Kenneth Okolie have released them late hours of yesterday. They were released blindfolded at a location where they were able to make calls.

"Wonders  they say shall never end" A man in India had decided to protest in an unusual way the refusal of his wife to apologise to him after an extra marital affairs with a neighbor.

25- year old Sanjay had climbed a guava tree since he walked into the duo and the wife refused to apologise. 

He had been sleeping on the tree and feeding on the fruits and other foods the family had brought on visits.

The wife rather than apologise had decided to move back to her parent's home.
 The Cholapur police refused  to intervene saying their was no crime involved.

The R& B group, which comprised of Shifi, Zeal and Tunde, have struggled to recapture the success they achieved with their debut album, which had tracks like ‘Run away’, ‘Olufunmi’, etc. Their second album ‘Unbreakable’ and new singles did not get much attention like their first album.

Tunde, a member of the group has decided to go solo, re-branding himself as NativeBoy.

Governor Gabriel Suswam alleged Boko Haram is after his life!

Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State had claimed that members of the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram are after his life. This he disclosed after he attended  Holy communion service at the NKST Church High Level Makurdi.

Describing the death of Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State as shocking and a source of worry to the northern Governor’s Forum, Governor Suswam said it has become clear that no governor is safe

Mr Ghamba was traveling back to Lagos and gave his friend a ride - it would be his friend's first time in the big city - but little did they both know what awaited them tonight.

"I felt dropping him at the bus park would create issues - if he was declared missing, they would say i was the last person to see him," explained Mr Ghamba, an automobile businessman. "So I dropped him in the house he was going to - not knowing there were armed robbers parading the neighbourhood."

Mr Ghamba dropped his friend and that's when everything went wrong.

"After I dropped him, I got caught up in the traffic and in the process I got shot."

He was shot in the waist, near his stomach and other vital organs.

Only 200 metres away from where he was shot, Mr Ghamba explained, was a police check-point. As he had passed earlier, they had asked him 'where are you going?' - but now, there were no police to be seen.

"Because of the bleeding I was taken directly to the General Nigeria hospital, Ikeja - but they said they cannot attend to me until I bring a police report."

As he continued to bleed to death - Mr Ghamba was then shuttled between different hospitals to try and get treated to save his life.

By perhaps the only piece of good fortune on this night of disaster, a doctor at a private hospital lived at the house outside which Mr Ghamba had been shot. He was eventually taken to the private hospital and with the doctor's help and explanation - he was treated and saved.

He paid N150,000 ($1000) for a month's treatment but says - "You can't quantify health in terms of Naira and Kobo."

Money was not the issuse for Mr Ghamba - "The issue is, if I were to bleed profusely - I would have bled to death."

The minister of finance, Dr Mrs Okwonjo Iweala while appreciating everyone that stood her during the period of  her mother was in captive gave an insight into what her mother passed through in the hands of her abductors. Though she said she will not give details not to compromise ongoing investigation she said the 82 year old mother was without food for the period of five days and she was being taunted by them saying she must resign because she blocked the payment of oil subsidy etc.
She said such claims saying are false and concluded it by giving thanks to God
