Pope Benedict had earlier indicated his intentions to use the social media network to reach  numerous faithfuls world wide using the name @pontifex! I actually got his first tweet too.

His tweet: Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless off all you from my heart.
